Club member and former Scottish Amateur, Walker Cup and multi-international Champion, the late Dick Smith, maintained that although Selkirk was only a nine-hole course, it has a testing layout, fine quality hill turf fairways and greens of a fine texture. With plenty heather & gorse to catch the errant shot Selkirk still offers the modern golfer a fine test of golf.

Selkirk Golf Club is a small friendly club, with an excellent social membership both on & off the course. The club runs regular competitions involving all the membership, with greensome & texas scramble events comprising teams from all the clubs sections, gents, ladies & juniors. The club has a healthy junior membership and provides golf coaching as part of their membership package.
